As part of the Welcome Week for the Spring Semester 2025, the Bratislava University of Economics and Management (BUEM) organized a series of engaging activities to help students settle into university life. The program featured outdoor experiences exclusively for Erasmus+ students, while full-time BUEM students enjoyed a special bowling event.

Engaging Activities for Erasmus+ Students

The week kicked off with an Introduction to the Slovak Language, where Erasmus+ students got a glimpse into Slovakia’s rich culture. Through interactive language games and fun challenges, students learned a few useful Slovak phrases while enjoying a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

The excitement continued with the Students’ Improvised Olympic Games at Gamča, where students participated in creative challenges that tested their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and sportsmanship. Laughter and energy filled the gym as students competed in unique and entertaining activities, making it an unforgettable bonding experience.

Erasmus+ students also had the chance to explore Bratislava and its surroundings. The Short Tour of the Old Town took them through the city’s most iconic landmarks, introducing them to its history and vibrant atmosphere. Later in the week, they embarked on an adventure to Devin Castle, where they enjoyed stunning views of the Danube River and a deeper understanding of Slovakia’s medieval heritage.

One of the most thrilling events was the Bratislava City Rally, a fun and interactive challenge where students raced across the city, solving cultural and historical tasks along the way. This activity encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and new friendships while providing a unique way to discover Bratislava.

Bowling Fun for Full-Time BUEM Students

While Erasmus+ students enjoyed their outdoor adventures, full-time BUEM students from all years of Bachelor studies gathered for an afternoon of bowling. This event created a relaxed and enjoyable environment where students could connect, socialize, and compete in a friendly game. It was the perfect opportunity to strengthen friendships and build a sense of community among full-time students.

With a mix of language learning, exploration, teamwork, and social bonding, Welcome Week provided an exciting and memorable start to the Spring Semester 2025 at BUEM.
