Last week, the Bratislava University of Economics and Management had the pleasure of welcoming students and staff from our partner universities as part of the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). The event offered an exciting and enriching week full of academic exploration, professional development, and intercultural exchange.
Students took part in the program AI Challenges in Economy 5.0, which explored how innovations and artificial intelligence are transforming the fields of economics, management, and public administration. Through a variety of modern and interactive teaching methods—including project work, case studies, games, and e-learning—students examined real-world challenges and worked together in international teams. They explored the role of AI in business and society, developed new perspectives on regional development, and shared ideas across borders. The program encouraged not only academic growth but also creativity, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility. Students left the course with new knowledge, practical insights, and a deeper understanding of how innovation is shaping the economy of the future.
At the same time, academic staff participated in a parallel BIP program titled Innovative Horizons: Integrating Global Connectivity and AI in Modern University Education. The staff program focused on the role of digital technologies and AI in higher education. Through interactive workshops, expert-led presentations, and collaborative sessions, teachers explored new ways to improve their teaching, connect with students through digital tools, and design more engaging and effective learning experiences. The sessions sparked lively discussions, knowledge sharing, and creative planning, helping staff prepare to meet the challenges of modern education with fresh ideas and confidence.
Beyond the academic sessions, the week also offered a rich social and cultural experience. All participants enjoyed a welcome dinner, a guided city tour of Bratislava, and a farewell dinner that brought everyone together to celebrate new friendships and connections. The atmosphere throughout the week was warm, collaborative, and filled with energy. Students and staff alike enjoyed not only learning but also discovering the beauty of Bratislava, experiencing Slovak culture, and building international networks that will continue to grow long after the program ends.
We are proud to have hosted such a meaningful event and grateful to all participants who made the week so successful. At BUEM, we continue to support international cooperation and innovative education, and we look forward to more initiatives like this in the future.
