Despite a number of administrative restrictions and especially strict measures for crossing the Ukrainian border related to COVID-19, representatives of IT Association of Slovakia, selected IT companies and SEMPA, together with efficient support of European Migration Agency in Bratislava (EMA), successfully opened the „Summer school“ for Ukrainian students. This year, 17 students from partner universities in Odesa, Kharkiv, Kiev, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Uzhorod have arrived. These students passed a selection process to get admitted to second year of Common Master programme studies, that will be realized at SEMPA in Bratislava.
During the summer school in August and September, students will attend an intensive Slovak language course (level A2), course of JAVA programming which will take place at headquarters of SEMPA and IT practice in selected IT companies in Bratislava and Košice.
Management of SEMPA and Ukrainian students appreciated a thorough preparation of border crossing, special transport from border to campus , as well as prepared quarantine measures at campus in compliance with The Public Health Authority orders. Success was conditioned by all participants‘ negative results of tests for COVID-19, which finally gave a green light for opening of summer school.
Special thanks for this achievement and enormous effort goes to Ing. Marián Kováč, PhD., Head of International Relations department at SEMPA, Mgr. Lukáš Schlenger, and entire project team of Common study programmes at SEMPA under the leadership of Mr Dr.h.c. Ing. Mário Lelovský, doc. Ing. Ľuboš Cibák, PhD. MBA. and Ing. Marián Vlasatý, head of EMA.
These achievements of SEMPA with fulfilling quarantine orders did not remain unnoticed by RTVS, which made an interview with Ukrainian students and SEMPA representatives. https://www.rtvs.sk/televizia/archiv/13982/237540#
