On Wednesday February 27th, H.E. Johannes Wimmer the ambassador of Austria visited our university. Ambassador was welcomed by the rector and members of the management, who presented him our university and discussed cooperation with partners from Austria. Subsequently, His Excellency gave a lecture to the students on the topic "EU integration as a success story for Austria, Slovakia and their bilateral relations". During the lecture, he described the historical connections, challenges and benefits experienced by both countries on the way to EU membership and emphasized the importance of cooperation in the fields of economy, education and culture.
The lecture was followed by a lively discussion in which students asked questions related not only to European integration, but also to current challenges in international relations. Ambassador willingly answered and shared his experience from diplomatic environment. The students appreciated the opportunity to discuss with important representative of diplomacy and expand their knowledge about the functioning of European and bilateral relations.
