The Bratislava University of Economics and Management (BUEM) proudly welcomed its new Erasmus+ and exchange students during the Welcome week for the winter semester 2025/2026, held from 29 September to 3 October 2025.
The week began with a welcome address and administrative session, where students received important information about registration, required documents, and practical matters related to settling in Bratislava and starting their studies. It was also the perfect opportunity to meet fellow students and experience the friendly, multicultural atmosphere that BUEM is known for.
The following day featured the Introduction to Study session, giving students an overview of BUEM’s academic programs, expectations, and opportunities for personal and professional growth throughout the semester.
One of the highlights of the week was International Day, during which students proudly presented their home countries through short presentations, traditional clothing, and national dishes. The event transformed the university hall into a colorful celebration filled with laughter, music, and cultural diversity — a perfect reflection of the Erasmus+ spirit.
The week concluded with the Bratislava City Rally, a lively urban adventure that combined teamwork, discovery, and friendly competition. Starting from the Slovak National Theatre, students explored some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Hviezdoslav Square, St. Martin’s Cathedral, Michael’s Gate, the Old Town Hall, the Primacial Palace, and the popular “Man at Work” statue. At each checkpoint, they completed creative photo challenges, answered trivia questions, and captured fun group moments that reflected the joy of discovery and friendship.
The Welcome Week at BUEM was a perfect blend of learning, cultural exchange, and exploration — an unforgettable start to the semester that laid the foundation for a truly inspiring Erasmus+ experience.
