BUEM DORMITORY

Welcome to the official page of the BUEM Dormitory!

We are pleased to offer comfortable and well-equipped student accommodation located on the 3rd floor of the dormitory building of the Specialized Secondary School of Information Technology dormitory (Stredná odborná škola informačných technológií), at Hlinícka 1, 831 52 Bratislava.

🏞️ LOCATION

The BUEM dormitory is situated in the Rača city district, in the Krasňany area—part of Bratislava’s third district. It is a quiet, peaceful, and safe neighborhood, ideal for student living.

Close to the dormitory are the Malé Karpaty Mountains, offering excellent opportunities for jogging, cycling, hiking, or outdoor exercise. The area is free of factories or industrial buildings, which helps maintain a clean and tranquil environment.

The dormitory is located approximately 6.3 km from the city centre and 9.2 km from the BUEM campus, both accessible by foot or public transport. A nearby bus stop provides direct connections to surrounding villages, historical castles, and natural attractions.

🚋 TRANSPORT CONNECTION

The location of the BUEM dormitory is very attractive and accessible from all directions, with excellent connections to public transport hubs. The most convenient transport link to the dormitory is tram number 3, which stops at PEKNÁ CESTA in both directions — just an 8-minute walk away. The tram operates every 3-5 minutes on weekdays and every 7 minutes on weekends and holidays. The tram stop has a ticket machine that accepts card payments.

From this stop:

• The city centre is just 10 minutes by tram.
• The BUEM school is 26 minutes by tram or approximately 12 minutes by car.

Floors & Rooms

• The 3rd floor of the dormitory building is exclusively reserved for BUEM students and is fully furnished.
• Available room types:

Each student has access to their own:

» Bed, wardrobe, nightstand-style cabinet, and shelf

» Additional furnishings:

» Tables and chairs
(Comfort: 1 table per room; Deluxe: 2 tables)

The shared study room, open 24/7, includes:

» Additional tables and chairs for individual or group study

» A video projector and TV, available for student use

Amenities

• High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the BUEM floor.
• Recently renovated shared showers and toilets, separated by gender.
• 3 washing machines available (paid use; terms in Accommodation Rules).
• Fully equipped kitchenette includes:

» 2 hot-air ovens

» 7 large refrigerators and 2 small ones

» Microwave, cooking utensils, and cleaning equipment

🚗 PARKING

• 2 parking spaces are available for BUEM dormitory residents.
• Use is paid and must be arranged in advance.
• Availability is limited — please confirm with dormitory staff before arrival.

🔐 SAFETY AND RESPONSIBILITY

• The main corridor entrance on the BUEM floor is secured with an automated door, ensuring only authorized students can access the dormitory area.
• CCTV cameras monitor the corridor, kitchen, and study room for added safety.
• Cleaning staff regularly clean the corridor, toilets, and bathrooms.
• Students are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all shared areas (kitchen, study room) and their own rooms.

» Cleaning must follow rotational schedules, and it is very important to keep all shared spaces neat and hygienic.

• Cleaning tools such as a vacuum cleaner, mop, and other basic supplies are provided on the floor for student use.

💰 PRICES – DISCOUNTED RATES FOR BUEM STUDENTS

🗓️ Accomodation for 3 months only for Erasmus+ and bilateral mobility students (price per person/month):

Other fees for accommodation services at BUEM dormitory are listed in Accommodation rules approved by BUEM Academic Senate.

In case of free spots, the dormitory offers accommodation also for students from other Universities in accordance with the regulations and individual agreements.

Short-time stay at the dormitory is charged 25€/per night and it is subject of a specific approval process.
